Spearfishing

Our abundant reefs and backwaters offer a wide variety of "Ocean Hunter" adventures.

The reefs and rockpiles near Spiritwind Reef Resort abound with trophy Hogfish, huge Cubera , Dog-tooth and Mutton Snapper, Grouper, Permit, Crevalle, Amberjack, King Mackerel, Cobia, Snook, Goliaths and more. No two dives... no two HUNTS are ever alike! Here at the southern end of the Barrier Reef, there is little fishing pressure. There are hundreds of prime hunting grounds... just waiting to be tapped.

But there ARE RULES. Spearfishing in Belize is FREE DIVING ONLY. That means no Scuba... EVER! And we only fish in non-protected areas.

Conservation

As is our policy with ANY fishing, to avoid any "kill and discard" fishing practices; all fish harvested will be consumed as food, either at Spiritwind Reef Resort or freely distributed to the poor in our community. NOTHING is EVER WASTED... GUARANTEED!
